In order to address the growing number of families with school age children, the City Commission chose to take an aggressive approach to meet its changing demographics. Doors opened Fall of 2003 to the City's first Charter Elementary School built adjacent to the new Community/Recreation Center. The 45,000 square foot state-of-the-art school serves 600 Aventura schoolchildren from kindergarten to 5th grade and is the first municipal-run charter school in Miami-Dade County.

1. Verbal, clinical, business planning, and interpersonal skills typically acquired through the completion of a post graduate M.D. program and 3-5 years experience in clinical laboratory medical leadership.

2. In depth and up-to-date knowledge of clinical and anatomic pathology in the hospital/commercial laboratory industry.

3. Board certification in anatomic and clinical pathology as well as experience in an integrated laboratory system environment are required. Board certification in cytology and hematopathology are preferred.

Founded in 1966, Plantation General Hospital (PGH) is a 264-bed acute care hospital providing healthcare services to the families of Broward County. PGH has nationally recognized and respected centers of excellence in Maternity, High Risk Maternity, Pediatrics, PICU and Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, which have earned us a distinguished reputation for quality. We also excel in nutrition counseling, gastric bypass surgery and minimally invasive procedures. We have a full service imaging/radiology department and a physical therapy/rehab department with immediate appointments available for mammograms, therapy or other scans. Plantation General Hospital is located just a few miles directly west of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, and thirty minutes north of Miami.
